Harsányi Tokaji Aszú, 2017

2017 was a hot, early harvest year, but with lovely acidity and the need for careful selection due to the early onset of botrytis. A great, complex vintage for both dry and botrytised wines. Important wine style of Tokaj. The wine is made from carefully selected shrivelled berries affected by noble rot. Hand-picking is a must for this wine. It is made only in the best vintages. After 2 years of ageing in new oak barrels, it becomes an exceptionally rich and complex sweet wine. It has a very well defined fruity character of apricot, peach, pear, walnut and honey. It also has excellent acidity which keeps the wine fresh and crisp.
