Dark gold colour with reddish notes. The nose opens quite rapidly and gives a lot of botrytis and extreme complexity with lots of medlar, rosehip jelly, peach and pear.
The palate is citrusy, bold and complex. Excellent candied fruit character, cornel jelly and a nice touch of lemon balm herbs. Balanced with endless freshness and fruit, the high acidity balances the sweetness and contributes to the Essencia’s long and exciting finish.

- Ageing: Between mid-October and mid-November - the ‘aszúzás’ took place, the process whereby the pickers handpick the selected Furmint aszú berries. Then the free run juice was collected and the alcoholic fermentation took place spontaneously. After that the Essencia was stored in glass ’demijohns’ in our cellar.
